Blast from the past

This post of mine in another blog I have, on a working paper by Acemoglu, Robinson, and Verdier, was easily the most read post I made on that blog. The paper had made a splash then and there were many comments. It claimed that the US had offered a better environment for innovation than the Scandinavian countries. I had seen several responses online, and I commented on the paper and these responses.
